Gallery North is excited to announce the opening of its annual Small Works Show beginning March 1st through March 30th. The juried show will feature 150 paintings by 53 artists from ten different states. This highly anticipated event includes a wide array of small paintings depicting a variety of subjects including landscapes, wildlife, portraiture, still life, and more. All paintings will be for sale, and collectors are advised to come early for the best selection.
The Artists’ Reception and awards ceremony will be held on Saturday, March 9th from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Awards will be announced at 2:00 p.m. The community is invited to join the celebration, view the many exceptional paintings, and meet the outstanding artists who have contributed to this remarkable show. Gallery visitors will also have a chance to meet the artists at Art Walk Edmonds on Thursday, March 21st from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
The paintings will be juried for prizes by Liana Bennett, an award-winning artist who founded the Arts Umbrella Art Center. Liana studied under a scholarship at Art Center School and CalArts in California and began her professional art career at 19. She moved to Washington and the Puget Sound area in the early 80’s. Since then she has been heavily involved in teaching and helping young artists to develop their skills. She has also earned awards and recognition for her own art work.
“We are pleased that our annual Small Works Show has gained the attention of so many highly-talented artists. This year, we have received an incredible number of stunning artworks. We are proud to provide a venue to showcase the very best artwork from those artists who entered the show.” – Susan Swapp, 2019 Small Works Show Chair
