Pilchuck Audubon Society’s March Program Meeting will be “Ethiopia—A Birding Destination . . . While it Lasts.” The meeting will be from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, February 10th at the Firefighter’s Hall, 2411 Hewitt Avenue, Everett, WA 98201. The event is free and refreshments will be served.
This presentation by Ray White, Fishery Biologist and Stream Ecologist, will include observations from a 2012 tour—photos of spectacular and interesting birds, as well as problems arising from human overpopulation and habitat destruction.
Ray is a native of Madison, Wisconsin and has a Ph.D in zoology from the University of Wisconsin. Ray began his professional career in 1057 as an aquatic biologist for the Wisconsin Conservation Department leading statewide research to evaluate habitat management in trout streams. Later he studied and worked as a biologist in Europe, mainly in Germany and Austria. Now retired from teaching fisher science at Montana State University and Michigan State University, he serves as a consulting biologist. Ray resides in Edmonds and is an avid birder since 1951.
