Gallery North Hosts “A Painted Celebration” Featuring Artwork by Seattle Co-Arts Members
Oct 1, 2017 @ 11:00 am - Oct 31, 2017 @ 5:00 pm
This October Gallery North features the work of 21 local artists and members of Seattle Co-Arts. The show, “A Painted Celebration” is an eclectic and colorful collection of paintings representing a variety of subjects, styles, and mediums including watercolor, acrylic, oil, mixed media, and ink. Artists Elaine Cohn, Susan Killen, Delorse Lovelady, Trish Murphy, Joan O’Byrne, and Lonni Flowers are just some of the talented painters that are participating in this special show.
Seattle Co-Arts has been an important presence in the Puget Sound art community for 68 years. Founded by a handful of artists in 1949 with Margaret Mattocks as its head, Co-Arts has blossomed into an incorporated non-profit association with 150 members and a commitment to art education and opportunities for painters of all mediums. Each year Co-Arts provides scholarships to art students, sponsors juried and non-juried shows for its members, and offers educational classes and materials to those who attend monthly meetings or are associated with the group.
The Artists’ reception for “A Painted Celebration” will be at Gallery North in downtown Edmonds on Sunday, October 8 from 1:00-4:00pm. A second reception during Art Walk Edmonds will be held October 19 from 5:00-8:00pm. This exhibit is open to the public daily through October 31st.
