NAMI Presents two workshops, led by nationally recognized trainer Ellis Amdur, founder of Edgework. These
workshops will cover strategic interventions, verbal defensive tactics, navigating the system and more.
“The knowledge and skills [Amdur] imparted continue to help
make both myself and the individuals in crisis I routinely interact
with, safer. His training style is dynamic and entertaining.” — Lynnwood Police Sgt. Cole Langdon
Thursday’s presentation focuses on ‘Stabilizing yourself in a crisis’.
As the FAA advises “put your oxygen mask on first, before helping others”, this class teaches techniques to get control of your own emotions so that you can be most effective.
The longer Saturday, May 21 workshop focuses on “Stabilizing others in a crisis’. ** This workshop is free but requires pre-registration through NAMI, call 425-339-3620 or email nami.snohomish.county@gmail.com with name, telephone number and email to register.
These presentations are useful individually and both are very helpful, particularly in mental health crisis situations.
Both are free and open to the public.
