Christmas Bird Count and Penquins Presentation by Rick Taylor
Pilchuck Audubon Society’s November program meeting is featuring a presentation on the upcoming Christmas Bird Counts (CBC) and on Penguins and Pelagic Birds from South America. The meeting will be from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, November 9th at the Everett Fire Fighters Hall, 2411 Hewitt Ave in Everett. The presentation will be given by Rick Taylor, a member of Pilchuck Audubon and a well-known active birder.
Rick will talk briefly about the CBC, including the history of it, the purpose, how it is done, and what has been learned about local birds over the years. Pilchuck Audubon Society has CBC’s in both north and south Snohomish County, and folks will also learn how to be involved in this year’s Christmas Bird Count.
Rick will also share a very special birding trip cruise that he and his wife took in 2017 to see Penguins and Sea Birds from Valparaiso Chile to Buenos Aires Argentina He will share tales of the trip and photos of the birds they saw.
