Skandia First Friday Dance

From 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., Lisa Brooks and Larry Reinert will teach Springleik from Vågå. This is a lovely and flowing dance from the Gudbrandsdal valley in Norway. It has a couple turn at the end that is satisfying and not difficult. See the video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6EnoYNnJVY. For the dance at 8:30, we will have guest musicians from Portland: Amy Hakanson (nyckelharpa, fiddle, hardingfele, and possibly Swedish bagpipes) and Collin Stackhouse (fiddle), two members of the band Varelse. Bart Brashers (nyckelharpa) will join them to fill out the sound even more! This will be a great warmup for Stämma the following day.
