Summer Performance presented by Olympic Ballet Theatre

The “Summer Performance,” is a mixed program celebrating the diversity of ballet. The performance features shorter pieces and classical ballet excerpts, seeking to showcase classical ballet by famed choreographers of the past and neoclassical and contemporary ballet by choreographers of today in bite-sized portions that can be enjoyed by ballet newcomers and veterans alike.
The 2022 program will present “Carnival in Venice” a famous passage from the the ballet “Satanella” with original choreography by Marius Petipa. In addition to this timeless piece, a vibrant neoclassical world premiere choreographed by OBT company dancer Alberto Gaspar, seeks to balance the expressiveness of contemporary dance with the beautiful technique of classical ballet.
