To Puerto Rico! Salsa Band Fundraiser

The Edmonds Community College Jazz and Salsa Band are beginning fundraising events for their trip to Puerto Rico January, 2020! The Jazz Band became the Jazz and Salsa Band following Director John Sanders’ 2014 sabbatical in San Juan, Puerto Rico where he studied Salsa piano and composition. They enriched their experiences with Caribbean music and culture when they visited Havana, Cuba in March of 2017. Next, the band will build upon the connections John made in San Juan by visiting two music colleges and sharing and learning with their students. They will also attend the world renown San Sebastian Street Festival and hear the best bands in Puerto Rico.
