Skandia Folkdance Society’s festive winter dance–an evening of Scandinavian dancing for folks of all levels. The three hours of live music feature Bruce Sagan, award-winning master of fiddle, hardingfele (Norwegian drone fiddle), and the centuries-old Swedish nyckelharpa. Don’t miss the chance to hear (and dance to) joyous music that has stood the test of time. Eight of the Pacific Northwest’s finest folk musicians will join Bruce in five musical sets during the evening, including the hot pan-Scandinavian group, Skolkis, the talented duo, Paradocs, and superb fiddlers Peter Michaelsen and Irene Myers. New to dancing? Don’t be shy about getting started. You’ll be welcomed and nurtured by helpful partners, and fueled by palate-pleasing Nordic food.
