Volley for Nepal

The Vietnamese Eucharistic Youth Movement (DCTT VEYM) presents: VOLLEY FOR NEPAL.

Volley for Nepal is a volleyball tournament to fundraise money for the people of Nepal who were affected by the earthquake.

BACKGROUND: On the 25th of April 2015, Nepal, with a population of over 30 million people, was devastated by a 7.8Mw. This is reportedly the worst in Nepal in the past 81 years. The earthquake killed over 5,800 people and over 10,000 injured. The aid that comes within the first weeks and even months is of a life-saving nature.

FUNDRAISING: 100% of proceeds will be going to Save the Children. Save the Children is an international charity that has been in Nepal since 1976 and is therefore in an exceptional position to help those in need. Save the Children will use this money to provide clean water, hygiene kits, emergency family shelters, blankets for babies, and any other kind of aid that is needed. 10% of funds will be going to preparations for future disasters.

GAME LOGISITICS:

The fee is $40 per team. The payment will be due on the day of the event on May 30th, 2015 before 11am.

Each team member is required to print/sign a waiver form. If a team member is under 18, a parent or guardian must sign as well. The forms will be due on the day of the event on May 30th, 2015 before 11am.

The event officially starts at 11:00AM. Warm-up, practice, sign-ups will begin at 10:15AM.
