Two Ways to Get Involved to Fit Your Lifestyle!
The Deep Dive: The Sustainable Community Stewards Training Series, with a theme of “Mindful Climate Action,” is perfect for those that are frustrated/concerned about climate change and want to do something, but aren’t sure how. We will be focused on the challenging impacts our daily living brings and then be offering actionable behavior shifts that do make a difference at a personal and community level.
This training is 8-weeks, and includes 3 field trips to complete the 40-hours of training. Participants are then asked to volunteer 40 hours in 2019 in their community.
Shorter Recycling Focus: For those that are mostly focused on solid waste or maybe aren’t able to make the full 8-week commitment we are offering a “Waste Warrior” training that is a total of 20 hours including two waste-focused facility tours. The focus will be on clearing up confusion of recyclable materials, reducing contamination, and taking steps to help with waste reduction. There is a 20- hour volunteer commitment for 2019.
Where are they? Both trainings begin Wednesday, September 19th and take place at WSU Snohomish County Extension’s Education Center in McCollum Park, 600 128th St. SE, Everett 98208.
