Everett Animal Shelter sets up mobile unit due to closure of road

my newsThe Everett Animal Shelter, which provides animal sheltering services for the City of Lynnwood, has set up a mobile unit and closed its main building to the public due to road repairs.

The City of Everett has closed Smith Island Road at 12th Street NE, just south of Dagmars Landing, due to a failed culvert beneath the roadway. Crews are working on repairs, but the road could be closed for several days. Unfortunately, that means no access to the Everett Animal Shelter, Langus Riverfront Park, the boat launch or the trail to Spencer Island.

The shelter has established a mobile shelter unit at the road block, to receive stray animals only. The mobile unit will be open from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily until the road reopens. The shelter will not be taking in owner-released animals, returning animals to their owners or processing adoptions during this emergency status.  The shelter will extend stray holds for animals currently in the shelter
