Fire District 1 responded to 377 calls the week of Dec. 23-29, including the following calls in the Lynnwood area.
December 23
BICYCLIST HIT BY CAR. At 11:36 a.m., a bicyclist was hit by a car at 47th Ave. W and Beverly Park-Edmonds Road north of Lynnwood. The bicyclist, a man in his 30s, was transported by firefighters to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
December 25
COLLISION. At 6:48 a.m., firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds after responding to a car that crashed into the guardrail on southbound I-5 at 196th St. SW.
HOUSE FIRE. At 8:18 p.m., firefighters responded to a fire at a home in the 17100 block of 18th Pl. W east of Lynnwood. One man was injured and was transported by firefighters to Swedish/Edmonds. The fire was contained to a family room, but caused smoke damage throughout the home. Damage is estimated at $50,000. The fire was started by a burning candle that had been placed too close to a Christmas tree.
December 29
COLLISION. At 9:41 a.m., firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds after responding to a one-car collision at 195th Pl. SW and Locust Way east of Lynnwood.
