Fewer DUI arrests on Super Bowl Sunday

The State Patrol says there were fewer arrests this Super Bowl Sunday compared to last year.

In the district that covers Snohomish, Skagit, Whatcom and Island counties, there were a total of seven arrests – four of them in Snohomish County. Last year there were ten countywide.

“The roads were very quiet,” Trooper Keith Leary said. “We hope people think about drinking and driving especially during events like this.”

There were no fatal or serious injury in the county, either.

“Every driver has the choice to make the right decision not to get behind the wheel, looks like people made some good decisions this weekend,” Leary added.

There were a total of 47 DUI arrests around the state.
