The Lynnwood finance director has resigned from his post, less than a week after walking out during a heated City Council meeting.
The Everett Herald reports John Moir submitted his resignation letter to Mayor Don Gough.
It’s the latest development as the city struggles with a large budget shortfall, due largely to a decline in sales tax revenue.
The City Council is considering hiring an outside auditor to evaluate its bleak financial situation. The Herald says the city is up to $5 million behind original estimates for its two-year budget.
