Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 427 calls the week of Oct. 31-Nov. 6: 299 emergency medical aid calls, 44 motor vehicle collisions, 26 fires, 29 service calls, 2 natural gas leaks and 27 automatic fire alarms.
Oct. 31
COLLISION: At 4:50 p.m., a pedestrian was struck by a car at Highway 99 and Lincoln Way north of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported the injured pedestrian to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
Nov. 1
FIRE: At 4:33 a.m., firefighters responded to a small fire at a house in the 600 block of 215th Street SW east of Lynnwood. The exterior fire was contained to a small section of a wall. Firefighters determined the fire was started when a Halloween decoration containing a candle fell against the side of the house next to the front door. No one was injured.
TRUCK FIRE: At 6:14 p.m., firefighters extinguished a fire in a box truck on southbound I-5 south of 220th Street SW in Mountlake Terrace. No one was injured.
Nov. 2
COLLISION: At 12:43 a.m., a two-car collision was reported in the area of Larch Way and Locust Way east of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported one patient with serious injuries to Harborview Medical Center. Another patient was transported by ambulance to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
HIGH WINDS: Firefighters responded to more than 35 calls involving trees or power lines toppled during the high winds that blew through the county.
FIRE: At 10:25 a.m., firefighters assisted the residents of a home struck by a tree in the 22500 block of 56thAvenue W in Mountlake Terrace.
COLLISION: At 2:03 p.m., a two-car collision was reported at 204th Street SW and Poplar Way east of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
COLLISION: At 9:15 p.m., a rollover collision was reported in the 2100 block of El Capitan Way east of Everett. Firefighters used power tools to free a woman from the wreckage. She was transported by paramedics to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
Nov. 4
COLLISION: At 5:25 p.m., a small pickup truck struck a pedestrian at 220th Street SW and 52nd Avenue W in Mountlake Terrace. Firefighters transported the injured pedestrian to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
COLLISION: At 6:08 p.m., a two-car collision was reported in the 21100 block of Highway 99 in Edmonds. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
Nov. 5
FATAL FALL: At 11:02 a.m., firefighters responded to a home in the 300 block of 142nd Street SE east of Everett after a tree trimmer working there fell about 40 feet. The man was unconscious and not breathing. Efforts to revive him were unsuccessful and he died at the scene.
COLLISION: At 1:28 p.m., firefighters responded to a collision at 128th Street SW and 4th Avenue W south of Everett. Two patients were transported – one to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital and one to Swedish/Mill Creek Emergency Room.
COLLISION: At 4:38 p.m., a two-car collision was reported on the northbound I-5 on ramp from 196th Street SW in Lynnwood. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
CHIMNEY FIRE: At 6:02 p.m., firefighters extinguished a chimney fire at a home in the 22700 block of 78thAvenue W in Edmonds. No one was injured.
Nov. 6
COLLISION: At 5:34 a.m., a rollover collision was reported on southbound I-5 north of 164th Street SW. The vehicle came to rest on its side in the median and caught fire. The injured occupant was out of the vehicle when firefighters arrived. Firefighters extinguished the fire and transported the occupant to Harborview Medical Center.
COLLISION: At 9:57 p.m., a two-car was reported at 212th Street SW and Highway 99. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
