Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 308 calls the week of March 14-20: 254 emergency medical aid calls, 14 motor vehicle collisions, 17 fires, 11 service calls, 2 natural gas leaks and 10 automatic fire alarms.

March 14

FIRE: At 2:50 a.m., a house fire was reported in the 8800 block of 205th Place SW in Edmonds. Firefighters extinguished a small fire in a laundry room fan.

March 15

COLLISION: At 6:35 p.m., a two-car collision was reported at Larch Way and Poplar Way north of Brier. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

March 16

COLLISION: At 8:43 p.m., firefighters responded to a hit-and-run collision in the 200 block of 128th Street SE south of Everett and transported one patient to Swedish/Mill Creek Emergency Room.

March 17

COLLISION: At 1:23 a.m., a collision was reported in the 100 block of 130th Street SE south of Everett. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Mill Creek Emergency Room.

COLLISION: At 11:38 a.m., a two-car collision was reported at 236th Street SW and 84th Avenue W in Edmonds. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

FIRE: At 6:19 p.m., a fire in a clothes dryer was reported at a home in the 3300 block of 125th Place SE south of Everett. The resident removed the dryer from the house to the driveway. Firefighters arrived to find smoke and flames coming from the dryer and quickly extinguished the fire.

March 19

RESCUE: At 4:46 p.m., firefighters used a ladder truck to rescue a worker stuck 30 feet up in a tree at a home in the 22200 block of 38th Avenue W in Mountlake Terrace. Medics transported the injured man to Harborview Medical Center.

March 20

COLLISION: At 7:29 a.m., a two-car collision was reported on southbound I-405 just past the I-5 interchange. Firefighters treated one person for minor injuries at the scene and transported one person to Evergreen Hospital.

FIRE: At 2:06 p.m., a small attic fire was reported at a house in the 500 block of 3rd Avenue N in Edmonds. An investigator determined the fire was started by an old TV antenna that came in contact with an electrical wire. The electrical system in the house was damaged and may need to be replaced. No injuries were reported.
