A fire at a mobile home park north of Lynnwood this afternoon heavily damaged two travel trailers and displaced three people.
Neighbors reported the fire at the Lake Stickney Mobile Home Park in the 13000 block of 17th Avenue West around 1:20 p.m.
“Firefighters arrived minutes later to find one 30-foot travel trailer engulfed in flames. A neighboring 30-foot travel trailer was also starting to burn,” said Leslie Hynes, spokesperson for Snohomish County Fire District 1.
Residents of both trailers were away at the time of the fire and there were no injuries. Firefighters had the fire under control within 10 minutes. Firefighters rescued a large snake and several pet mice from one of the trailers.
An investigator from the Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s office determined the cause of the fire was electrical. He estimated the trailer where the fire started sustained $5,000 damage, and the neighboring trailer sustained $15,000 damage.
Both trailers are a total loss. The residents did not have insurance. Volunteers from the Snohomish County Chapter of the American Red Cross responded to help the two men and one woman displaced by the fire.
