Visitors check out the new Fire Station 10

Firefighters from Fire District 1 opened their doors to the public today to show off their new station just north of Lynnwood.

Dozens of kids turned out to meet the firefighters and sit in the fire trucks.

There was also a 911 call simulator and demonstrations on fire safety.

The $5.4 million building is located at 3922 156th St. SW just north of the Lynnwood city limits. The location just east of Highway 99 was selected to optimize response times.

With the opening of Fire Station 10, Fire District 1 now provides full-time staffing at 12 stations.
