Drivers in Lynnwood will soon have another option to fill their tanks.
Construction on the new gas station at Fred Meyer on 196th Street SW is under way, part of the larger remodel of the store.
The fuel center will have space for 14 vehicles – one of the largest fuel centers in the chain. It’s on the east side of the property along 44th Avenue West, near the location of a previous gas station.
A company spokesperson told us in April the city of Lynnwood has strict landscaping requirements, so this fuel center won’t look like any other at Fred Meyer.
At last check it was supposed to open this month, with the store’s grand reopening set for Oct. 15, 2010. We’ll check to see if those dates still hold.
