Friends of the Library present women and the Seattle Civil Rights Movement program

The Friends of the Lynnwood Library host a talk by Maria Quintana, who discuss the lives and achievements of women involved in the Seattle Civil Rights Movement via the Seattle Civil Rights and Labor History Project at 7 p.m., March 14 at the Lynnwood Library,.

The grassroots online project is an important resource for exploring the civil rights activism of women in the Pacific Northwest, showcasing Western Washington’s unique civil rights history. Quintana is a Ph.D. candidate in History at the University of Washington, with primary fields in twentieth-century U.S. history and comparative colonialism. Her scholarly interests include critical race studies, social movements, gender, and labor studies.
