Panda Express, located at 4120 196th St. S.W., will hold a fundraiser donating 20 percent of sales to send eight teenage musicians to perform at SummerFest in Milwaukee.
The teens are students at School of Rock Lynnwood. They are members of the House Band, which is made up of top-caliber students.
“It is an honor to be selected to play on the same stage as bands such as Imagine
Dragons, The Flaming Lips, The Posies, Jethro Tull and Journey… I think they even have James Taylor, Bonnie Raitt and Blake Shelton this year too!” said Jon Scherrer, the owner of the School of Rock Lynnwood. “We would like to make this an annual tradition.”
To support sending the students, Seattle Teen Music (a regional non-profit that connects young musicians with opportunities to play) is working with Panda Express to raise funds to help offset the travel costs for the kids and their families. To participate you just need to show the above coupon (either printed or on your phone) at checkout on April 15 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Panda Express will then provide 20 percent of the sales to Seattle Teen Music as a donation for the band’s trip.

Opened in 2017 by Lynnwood residents Jon and Gayle Scherrer, the local school takes students from the lesson room to the stage, developing their confidence and musicianship with programs designed for all skill levels. Programs are available for kids ages 6 through adults.
