Girls basketball: Lynnwood faces Bellarmine Prep on Saturday, March 1

The top-ranked Lynnwood girls basketball team takes on Bellarmine Prep at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 1 in a winner-to-state/loser out 3A regional game at Everett Community College.

The Royals (22-1) are coming off a 46-34 victory over Arlington in the District 1 championship game last Friday. Bellarmine Prep (19-5) was the Narrows League champion. The Lions lost back-to-back district playoff games to Todd Beamer and Skyview.

Bellarmine Prep is led by Narrows League MVP Jasmyne Holmes, a 5-foot-6 guard, and Defensive MVP Claire Martin, a 6-5 junior center. Holmes is averaging 13 points per game, while Martin scores 14 points per game.
