Habitat for Humanity celebrates grand opening of home improvement store on June 6

habitateHabitat for Humanity of Snohomish County will have the grand opening of its second Habitat Store, a home improvement thrift store, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday, June 6, at 16929 Highway 99, Suite 100, Lynnwood.

A Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be held at 12:30 p.m.. The Habitat Stores at both the Lynnwood and Everett locations are open to the public Tuesday thru Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Habitat welcomes new volunteers of all skill levels and interest into its Habitat family.

“Our Habitat Store provides a new outlet for the recycling and reuse of used and surplus materials while encouraging sustainable living, the reduction of waste to the landfill and the building of community” said John Budd, Habitat for Humanity of Snohomish County Board President.

The Habitat Store sells quality used and surplus building materials at reduced prices. Profits from the Habitat Store help fund the mission of Habitat for Humanity of Snohomish County to provide affordable housing in the community. Homeowners, contractors and businesses that donate items will receive a tax-deductible receipt.

  1. How about an update now that the store has been open for awhile? How is it doing? Does it need more volunteers? Actually I can answer that since I am a volunteer there – yes as a matter of fact it does! Folks should check it out for a great volunteer opportunity.
