Upon entering the Habitat for Humanity Store on Highway 99, customers have a view of several items for sale, from large bookcases to small light fixtures to power tools.

“People find things they didn’t know they wanted,” Habitat for Humanity Executive Director Guinn Rogers said. “People who are crafty find things they can work with and they can repurpose it into other things. It’s a great source for materials, appliances and cabinets that they may not be able to get otherwise.”

The store accepts donations from private donors and corporate donors, so some items are gently used and some are brand new.

“We’re always interested in kitchen cabinets and appliances,” Guinn said.

Habitat for Humanity can also pick up donations.

Shopping at the Habitat for Humanity Store also helps a good cause. All profit from the store helps fund Habitat for Humanity projects right here in Snohomish County.

The store opened in June 2015. Since then, four homes were built in Marysville. Another project is expected to start next month in Everett.

So far, Guinn and store manager Anita Sims both say sales are doing well, but the one thing they need are more volunteers.

“We can never have too many volunteers,” Sims said.

There are volunteer positions available at the store most days. Prospective volunteers can register and sign up for available shifts at the Habitat for Humanity website. This is also the website volunteers visit to sign up to build houses for Habitat for Humanity projects.
