Officers around Snohomish County arrested 22 suspected impaired drivers during the annual “Surround the Sound” emphasis patrols on Halloween. That includes four arrests by Lynnwood officers.
”That is 22 too many,” said Tracy McMillan, manager of the Snohomish County DUI and Target Zero Task Force. “We would prefer drivers find a safer way home than driving themselves when impaired.”
About 325 drivers were pulled over during the 8-hour patrols, meaning one out of about every 15 drivers was suspected of driving impaired.
In addition to Lynnwood PD, the other participating agencies included Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, Washington State Patrol, Arlington, Everett, Granite Falls, Lake Stevens and Monroe.
