Edmonds police said Thursday they have arrested a 20-year-old Brier woman in connection with an April 4 hit-and-run incident in the 22800 block of Highway 99.

No further details were immediately available about the suspect, who was booked into Snohomish County Jail. Police said the investigation is ongoing.

Following the April 4 incident, police put out an alert for a light-colored Honda sedan that fled Highway 99 northbound after striking an 88-year-old woman. The victim, a resident of a nearby Edmonds apartment complex, was attempting to cross Highway 99 at 228th Street Southwest in the early evening April 4.

The crash sent the victim to Harborview Medical Center with head and ankle injuries. She is now in stable condition, said Edmonds police spokesman Sgt. Shane Hawley.

The location where the woman was struck is where the city is building a new intersection that will cross Highway 99 at 228th Street Southwest.
