Glee singer and guitarist Derik Nelson performs his high-powered full-band pop/rock concert on Friday, Oct. 10, at Mountlake Terrace High School.

The 8:30 p.m. show is open to all ages and will feature 90 minutes of pop and rock music with a mix of covers and original songs. There will be no intermission.

A portion of the ticket sales goes directly to Mountlake Terrace High School to benefit the school’s Drama department under direction of Jeannie Brzovic.

“It’s such an exciting honor to have Derik performing here for the second year in a row,” Brzovic said. “Last year was absolutely incredible. This is the perfect way to bring a professional concert to Mountlake Terrace, and it’s beneficial for our school.”

Nelson is a singer/songwriter/producer, professionally touring to raise money for high school arts and music programs through his full-band live pop/rock concerts across Washington, Oregon, and California this fall. His 2013 Tour reached 10,000 high school students. Nelson’s YouTube Channel of original & cover songs has garnered over 2.6 million views.

The Olympia native has worked on-screen and off in TV shows such as “Glee,” “Raising Hope,” “How I Met Your Mother,” “The Voice,” and more.
