Happening nearby: Hit-and-run collision on Highway 99 sends 88-year-old woman to Harborview

EPDpatchEdmonds police Monday night responded to the scene of a hit-and-run collision that sent an 88-year-old woman to Harborview Medical Center.

According to Edmonds police spokesman Sgt. Shane Hawley, the victim was attempting to cross Highway 99 in the 22800 block of Highway 99 when she was struck by a light-colored Honda sedan at 5:38 p.m.

The location where the woman was struck is where the city is building a new intersection that will cross Highway 99 at 228th Street Southwest.

The full extent of the woman’s injuries and her city of residence were not known, Hawley said.

The suspect vehicle, driven by a woman, fled the scene northbound. Police have a partial license plate of AOE123. The vehicle will have damage to the front driver’s side.
