Neighboring Mountlake Terrace is hosting a fireworks display the day before Independence Day — Sunday, July 3, at Ballinger Park next to Lake Ballinger.
The 3rd of July celebration will feature live entertainment, family games, contests and an aerial fireworks display over the 55-acre park, located on the Mountlake Terrace/Edmonds border.
The celebration is the brainchild of Mountlake Terrace City Councilmember and restaurant owner Seaun Richards, whose Cheeseburger Babies Foundation is the title presenter.
Attendees are encouraged to take transit to the event as parking is limited. Shuttle service will also be provided between the park and the Mountlake Terrace Transit Center starting at 5 p.m. on July 3.
Richards is anticipating a successful show given the unique setting and the fact it is scheduled on the day before Independence Day. “There’s so many shows on the Fourth of July,” he said. “Ours will stand out being on the third.”
