Elemental Massage Therapy is holding a fundraiser from 5-9 p.m., Saturday, July, 18 at its new location — 51 W. Dayton St. in Edmonds — with all proceeds benefiting the Heart of Edmonds School District and Community Heart Safe Project.
The Heart of Edmonds Schools is dedicated to saving lives by equipping all Edmonds School District public schools and community fields with automated external defibrillators (AEDs). It was started by Edmonds mother Melinda Truax following the tragic loss of her teenage son Matthew to sudden cardiac arrest while running track at Meadowdale High School.
Elemental Massage Therapy owner Marisa Berglund said she admires how Melinda Truax has turned an unfathomable loss into an opportunity to serve the community — and it inspired Berglund to use the grand opening of her new massage therapy location to champion the cause of The Heart of Edmonds Project.
All are welcome to visit the new location in the Edmonds Bay Building July 18 and purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win items generously donated by the following local merchants: Elemental Massage Therapy, J. Rankin Jewllers, Splash Dog, Waterfront Coffee Company, Sense Nail Spa, Anthony’s Restaurants, Edmonds Bookshop, Rogue and The Scandinavian Language Institute. The event will include food, drinks and live music performed by Each and All.
