At the recent gala and auction for Holly House, supporter Arlene James was the winning bidder on a 15-piece Disney Frozen-themed bedroom set that included a comforter, throw blanket, pillow cases, canopy, bulletin board and lamp.
James does not have any children of her own, so friends were wondering what she planned to do with the gift set. James wanted to give it to a child, but she didn’t have any specific child in mind at the time. But she knew she wanted to give them to one special girl.
One day, an Edmonds School District employee noticed Albert Pool and his daughter Faith in the lunchroom. Faith loves the movie Frozen and even carries a Frozen backpack.
“I’m just carrying my daughter’s backpack and (the school employee) came up to me and said, ‘I have a question. Does your daughter like ‘Frozen?'” Albert said.
His reply: “Uh, yeah!”
The employee called James and said, “I found a little girl. Can you come?”
On Monday, James and and Holly House Director Pam Martinez delivered the gifts to Faith and her parents at their new home in Lynnwood. James finally met the special girl.
Holly House raises funds throughout the year to provide holiday gifts for children in need in the Edmonds School District. You can learn more here.
