The former treasurer of a homeowners association in Lynnwood is suspected of fraud after thousands of dollars went missing.

Board members told KIRO 7 they discovered the treasurer had written checks to himself or to cash totaling more than $84,000. So far no arrests have been made.

“We are in the very initial stages of the investigation,” Rebecca Hover from the Snohomish County Sheriff’s office told us.

The association also is conducting its own internal audit to see where the money went.
