Lynnwood Elementary will join schools from around the world to celebrate International Walk to School Day on Oct. 3. About 200 students, along with parents, teachers and staff, are expected to participate.
The goal of Walk to School Day is to raise awareness of the need to create safer routes for walking and bicycling, as well as emphasize the importance of issues such as increasing physical activity, pedestrian safety, traffic congestion and concern for the environment.
The event is being organized by Lynnwood Elementary PTA, staff and students, and the city of Lynnwood. For more information, call Marielle Harrington at 425-670-5532.
