Construction on I-5 through South Snohomish County continues this week as crews prepare the southbound lanes of the freeway for resurfacing, concentrating on the stretch of roadway from 196th Street Southwest to 220th Street Southwest.
Up to three lanes of southbound I-5 in the construction zone will be closed each weekday starting anytime after 8 p.m. until around 5 a.m. the next morning.
The work is part of a $5.356 million project that will not only result in resurfaced southbound lanes of I-5 from 196th Street SW to the county line, but repaved on- and off-ramps at 220th Street Southwest, 236th Street Southwest and 244th Street Southwest/State Route 104.
