Lynnwood football teams fall short in the Intimidator Challenge

Thanks to Dustin at MLTnews.com for his coverage of this fun event.

The Edmonds-Woodway football team has the heartiest appetite in the Edmonds School District, with a $500 prize to prove it.

Players from each of the district’s four teams participated at the Intimidator Challenge this past Sunday at The Red Onion in Mountlake Terrace. The belly-busting competition was to completely finish a 3 1/2 pound burger consisting of 1 1/2 pounds of beef, a half-pound of buns and fixings, a half-pound of chili, a half-pound of macaroni and cheese and a half-pound of French fries.

Edmonds-Woodway offensive center Marco Hernandez took home the prize, finishing his feast  just ahead of Mountlake Terrace defensive end Julian Snow. Third place went to Edmonds-Woodway right tackle Caleb Tuivonovono. All other competitors dropped out early.

Team Participants:

  • Lynnwood: James Ryales LB/WR
  • Meadowdale: Ethan Coffey DT
  • Mountlake Terrace: Julian Snow DE/TE, Zach Karels RB, FS, David Turner OL
  • Edmonds-Woodway: Marco Hernandez C, Vance Meyringe G, Calib Tuivonovono RT

The Red Onion will donate $500 to Edmonds-Woodway’s football program for winning the culinary competition. Also, the Mountlake Terrace mayor will go to the Edmonds-Woodway vs. Meadowdale game wearing the Edmonds-Woodway colors and sit at the 50 yard line.
