Which Edmonds School District football player can scarf down a 3 1/2 pound burgers the quickest? We’ll find out this Sunday at the Red Onion in Mountlake Terrace.  The Red Onion is hosting the first annual District-Wide Eat Off where three members of each football team compete in the Red Onion’s Intimidator Challenge. Participating teams are Mountlake Terrace, Lynnwood, Edmonds-Woodway and Meadowdale high schools.

The Red Onion’s Intimidator Challenge is a 3 1/2 pound burger consisting of 1 1/2 pounds of beef, a half-pound of buns and fixings, a half-pound of chili, a half-pound of macaroni and cheese and a half-pound of french fries. The Red Onion has a “Wall of Fame” that features patrons who have finished the Intimidator in under 30 minutes. The current record is just under 14 minutes.

The challenge will take place this Sunday at 6 p.m., but come in anytime from 4-8 p.m. and half of your bill will be donated to the schools’ football programs. 50 percent of all sales and tips wil be equally distributed among the four football programs. Additionally, the Red Onion and other sponsors will donate an extra $500 to the team of the football player who finishes the Intimidator first.
