An officer with the Washington State Patrol attempted to pull over the man, who was speeding on northbound I-5, at around 1:15 p.m. The man, driving a stolen 2003 Acura, refused to pull over and exited to the 164th Street exit, according to Washington State Patrol Public Information Officer Mark Francis.
The suspect’s car crossed over the center median and side-swiped a 2012 Acura driven by a 23-year-old Everett woman. The suspect then had a head-on collision with a third vehicle, a 2013 Toyota driven by a 33-year-old Lynnwood man, that was headed westbound. The man was transported to Providence Hospital.
The driver fled on foot but was apprehended by police. The 21-year-old suspect faces felony vehicular assault charges and other misdemeanor charges. One of two passengers in the Kirkland man’s car also was taken to the hospital.
