Lynnwood police are investigating what appears to be a murder-suicide that happened late last night at La Quinta Inn on Alderwood Mall Blvd.

Reports of gunshots were called in to 911 just after 10:30 p.m. from a second floor room in the hotel. When police and medics got there they found a deceased 48-year-old man from Oregon. A 39-year-old woman from Idaho was also in the room but was not hurt.

Officers found the suspected shooter — who was married to the woman — a short time later dead in a car in the hotel parking lot with gunshot wounds.

Hotel guests on the second floor were temporarily evacuated during the investigation.

A dog was also found unhurt in the vehicle with the suspected shooter.
