It was a big night for five local Rotary Clubs Thursday as they joined together for a special kickoff celebration in honor of Rotary International’s 110th anniversary.
Members of the Rotary Clubs of Lynnwood, Alderwood-Terrace, Edmonds Noon, Edmonds Daybreakers and Mill Creek gathered at Anthony’s Seafood Grill at the Alderwood Mall in Lynnwood.
Thursday night also marked the start of a public campaign for the collection of new shoes and socks for men, women and children, which will be donated to Clothes For Kids and Volunteers of America. People can drop off donations at three locations through Feb. 23:
- 1st Security Bank – 19002 33rd Ave. W., Lynnwood
- HomeStreet Bank – 22001 66th Ave. W, Mountlake Terrace
- Belly & Co. – 422 Main Street, Edmonds
Lynnwood Rotary Club President Debbie Bodal, with some assistance from other members, lighted 110 candles on a special birthday cake and then quickly blew them out.
