Large stores around the state will begin selling liquor on June 1 after the passage of I-1183 last fall.
The measures allows stores that are larger than 10,000 square feet to sell hard alcohol. Several Lynnwood stores have already applied for liquor licenses.
Lynnwood’s big grocery stores are all on the list — Safeway, Fred Meyer, QFC and Albertsons. So is Costco, which sponsored the bill.
Target and Walgreen’s have also applied for liquor licenses.
The licenses cost $166 per year and retailers must pay a license fee of 17 percent of their revenues to the state Liquor Control Board.
