The line started forming at 1:30 a.m. Saturday. By the time the Lynnwood Apple store opened at 9 a.m., dozens of people were anxiously waiting for their own iPad. The new tablet computer hit stores across America today, starting at $499. Think of it as an Apple iPod Touch, only bigger.
Bill Gillam showed up at Alderwood Mall at 6:30 a.m., even though he already reserved his iPad. He said he “wanted to get the full experience of waiting in line, chatting with other tech fans, and to get the full Apple experience.” You can read about his adventure at his Web site or check out this video he shot.
I called the Alderwood Mall store about an hour before closing Saturday night. The Apple associate who answered the phone said they still had all three sizes (16GB, 32GB and 64GB) in stock.
