The winner of a $2.8 million Lotto jackpot in Lynnwood is no longer a mystery.
Isagani Almacen claimed his prize at the lottery office in Everett. The 43-year-old Lynnwood man is a father of three and works as a U.S. postal sorter. He says he plans to keep his job.
Almacen bought the winning ticket May 15 at the 7-11 at 187th Street SW and Highway 99.
When he returned the store to check the ticket, he couldn’t see the monitor clearly so he asked his daughter read it. She said, “2-8-0-0…” He interrupted her before she could finish, thinking she misread the display. He took the ticket to clerk, who told him “this is your lucky day.”
“I wanted to cry,” Almacen said. “But I just couldn’t.”
The Almacens say they’ll use their winnings for their kids’ college funds, help extended family, pay off a few bills and put some money toward their house.
