The school’s Latino families introduced this celebration to the school. The United States is one of the only countries in the world that doesn’t celebrate an official Day of the Children. But Lynndale Elementary does.

Classrooms featured family traditions, cultures and heritages from around the world. Children and some parents came dressed in traditional clothing.

The Open House featured a book fair in the library, a potluck dinner, games from around the world, an exhibit of ‘My Family and Me” cards that students made, a family folk dance featuring the Patty Cake Polka and a ‘Children Light the Way” lantern procession closing ceremony. The evening concluded with a slide show featuring photos of students, teachers and their families.
