Huge fire at Lynnview Apartments in Lynnwood

More than 30 families are displaced after a massive fire tore through the Lynnview Apartments near 200th Street SW and 58th Street SW.

Shannon Sessions, a spokesperson for Lynnwood Police, said preliminary reports show the fire was started by a french fry fryer. The fire was tough to fight because of some overhead power lines. Firefighters were taking a defensive staff against the fire.

Everyone made it out safely. As of 6 p.m. the fire is still flaring up. Check back for updates.

  1. I could see the fire from Highway 99/196th street. The flames were HUGE! I could even see the firefighter spraying the apartments from the firetruck's ladder.

  2. Why did the fire department take so long to get to the fire? I called in, and it took more then half an hour for them to even get there.

  3. I was walking by the apartments when i first saw a little bit of smoke coming out of the first apartment, i ran to my work and we called as well, it took 30 minutes for the first police car to arrive? and then about 35 for ONE fire truck at first. Makes no sense since there are atleast 2-3 fire departments withing 5 minutes from lynnview.

  4. If you can you should always choose apartments and complexes that have sprinklers because you never know how careless and stupid your neighbors will be.
