Lynnwood Arts Commission to meet Tuesday, Aug. 20; Commission position available

Strategies by Wendy ReedThe Lynnwood Arts Commission is scheduled to meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20 at the Lynnwood Recreation Center.

The commission supports the arts to enrich the quality of life in Lynnwood. This five-member commission plays an active role in advocating for the cultural arts including visual and performing arts, and arts education through partnerships with businesses, schools, community organizations and individuals. The commission develops and maintains the public art collection and also advises city leadership on arts issues and works on marketing and fund-raising for programs. The Arts Commission meets on the third Tuesday of every month at the Lynnwood Recreation Center.

There currently is a vacancy on the commission. Each member serves a three-year term and are appointed by the Mayor, with the approval of City Council.
