Lynnwood City Council scheduled to revisit fireworks policy at Wednesday's work session

MyNNNThe Lynnwood City Council will be discussing the city’s fireworks policy at a work session scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 18.

This is the second discussion by the council on the matter. The Lynnwood Police and Fire Chiefs have been invited to share their perspective on the current ordinance. The meeting is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. with the fireworks discussion set for 7:35 p.m.

Policy questions the council are considering include:

  • Maintain the status quo, no changes.
  • Make revisions in the ordinance.
  • Conduct another citizen survey. If so, what form should it take?
  • Repeal the use of all fireworks in the City going forward.

  1. I would like to see the use and sale of Fireworks banned in the City of Lynnwood.
This last year was the noisiest year I have experienced in over 16 years. The number of people setting off fireworks in the streets in my neighborhood close to homes was disturbing.

  2. My husband George while on the City Council 15 years ago fought hard to have a ban on firworks. He brought it up every year and every year it was voted down. Time to take a look at who is fighting so hard to keep selling and using them in the City of Lynnwood..
