Lynnwood City Council to select members to serve on RFA transition board Monday

During its meeting on Monday, Aug. 7, the Lynnwood City Council is expected to select two of its members to serve on the transition board for the South Snohomish County Fire and Rescue Regional Fire Authority (RFA) board.

The measure appeared on the Aug. 1 primary ballot, and vote counts so far show it as on-track to pass.

If approved, the RFA will be governed by a seven-member board. Five members will be from districted areas within the region covered by the RFA, and the other two will serve the region at large. Two of the districted positions will include the City of Lynnwood.

The transition board is expected to be made up of five Fire District 1 commissioners and two elected officials from the Lynnwood City Council as appointed by the council. All seven city councilmembers and Mayor Nicola Smith are eligible.
