Lynnwood City Council to hear live web streaming/archiving proposals

The Lynnwood City Council will be revisiting the issue of live streaming and archiving of its meetings at its July 17 work session. .

The council will hear a presentation by Dwight Edwards, owner of FX Video, who currently provides the video production for the city. Edwards is scheduled to present at about 8 p.m.

Edwards plans to present three options:

1. Live streaming through FX Video events website (30-day archive of broadcast)

2. Live streaming through City of Lynnwood branded events website with permanent archive of broadcast

3. Video Archiving Service – Video file available for download from FX Video file server. URL provided to Lynnwood to satisfy local archiving and record keeping requirements.

The combination of options 2 and 3 would allow live internet access of City Council meetings with a permanent archive of the broadcast on the event website plus a media file of the broadcast that would be available to the public for downloading and reviewing at a later time.
