Lynnwood Convention Center gets a clean audit

Things are looking up at the Lynnwood Convention Center. The State Auditor has given it a clean audit for 2010 — the seventh in a row.

The audit looked at several areas, including the Public Facility District’s financial condition, its compliance with the Open Public Meetings Act, and the safeguarding of public assets.

“The audit shows that the public should have every confidence in the conservative financial management of the Convention Center,” said Mike Echelbarger, the Chair of the District’s Board. “The District is well positioned to weather the current economic downturn, and will continue to benefit the economy of the Lynnwood area.”

The Convention Center generated an estimated $17,336,544 in economic benefit in 2010. It hosted 447 events last year.
